Cortney Dixon releases 'Half My Heart (LIVE)' Video

Featured track ‘Half My Heart (Live)’ from the EP – a showstopper and Live favourite – captures a unique, raw and dynamic version of the song and is accompanied by the release of a Live performance video on 3 December 2020.

Recorded and filmed at Blank Studios in Newcastle with her three-piece band, this unique, special version of the song is fitting for the time, when we are all missing the live music scene so much. Huge thanks to Help Musicians UK's 'Do It Differently' Fund for making 'Half My Heart (Live)' and the video possible.

The song 'Half My Heart', written in collaboration with Jim Lowe (Stereophonics/Charlatans, Beyonce) was written at a time when Cortney felt trapped and unproductive. She poured everything she was bottling up into the song, clearing a period of writers block. It marked the end of an uninspiring phase, getting caught up in the stereotypical Newcastle nightlife; "it's fun for a short while, but soon the monotony and guilt takes over the feeling of being young, free and invincible". The raw, explosive live track ends with the memorable chant "sick of the accent, bored with the nightlife" and an improvised guitar solo by Cortney on her iconic paisley Telecaster.
