Diives Releases New Single & Video 'Paranausea'

‘Paranausea’ is the fourth single from Diives forthcoming debut album, ‘Head Gone From The Neck Down’ and is, once again, accompanied by an awesome video from the legendary Andy Willsher.

Diives: Paranausea is about not getting dragged down by the negative influences that surround us. Staying focused on your dreams and blocking out the bad in the current climate, whether that be on social media, in the news or out on the streets. Paranausea is a letter to anyone veering off track. When I was half way through writing it, I realised that I should be taking some of this advice, so it could be a letter to myself. I made up the word Paranausea as it perfectly encapsulated the feeling of the song. In the era we’re living in, we compare and contrast ourselves to the often-fake lives of others who we see online, which in turn, gives us a distorted view of our own reality.

Written, recorded and produced by Diives in Flint, North Wales, his album tells the story of hitting an all-time low as the post pandemic world recovered. Instead, Diives felt he was "going down with the ship". Through a relationship break-up, sorrow, self-doubt and questioning his place in the world, Diives has created and delivered his best work yet. Anthemic pop/punk songs with emo themes, borne from a spark of defiance and energy to not let the bad times keep you down. Diives delivers heart-stopping lyrics and stuck-in- your-head music that speaks for everyone breaking out of darkness into light.

Diives’ skill for combining wonderfully crafted 3-minute gems with sing-along choruses and angst driven lyrics has dra wn comparisons with DM A’ s, T rampolene, Eels, Sam Fender , Smashing Pumpkins w/ influences ranging from Deftones, Nirvana + Radiohead.
